This is a rainbow-colored version of our signature Obai Shibori Scarves.
By wrapping thread spirally around the fabric to create a resist pattern, dyeing it, letting it dry, and then unwinding the thread, these striking “horns” emerge. Traditionally, the spiky shibori texture was meant to be stretched out to appreciate the pattern. But these shapes—meant to be seen only by shibori artisans, before the thread was unwound—amused the third owner. He thought, “It might be interesting to preserve not just the pattern, but the shape itself.” That was how it all began. Large Spiky Shibori Scarves have now become our store’s signature item.
The spikes stand about 8 cm tall. Spread the scarf out slightly to cover your shoulders, then tie the ends together to reveal its ultimate elegance and beauty. Wearing it inside out gives it a whole new look. This silk organza scarf has a crisp texture and features a versatile iridescent color that pairs well with anything.
